On August 27, the old Miri city council building was officially handed over for the establishment of Fudan University Joint Research Center for Innovative Drug Development in Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine.

The Consul General Xing Weiping, the Deputy Premier of Sarawak Dr. Professor Sim Kui Hian, and the Miri City Council Mayor Adam Yii attended the handover ceremony and delivered speeches.

Around 200 people from various sectors in Miri attended the event, including political leaders, senior officials, business elites, and representatives from local community.
