On June 25, 2025, the Vice Governor of the Fujian Province H.E. Mr. Lin Ruiliang visited Sarawak, attending and witnessing the signing of the MOU between the Zhangzhou Municipal Government of Fujian Province and the Miri City of State of Sarawak as friendship cities by Vice Mayor of Zhangzhou Municipal Government Mr. Zheng Limin and Mayor of Miri YB Adam Yii, together with Consul-General Xing Weiping as well as Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Amar Prof. Dr Sim Kui Hian.
